A set of 50/16-ton and 40.5-ton rail-mounted gantry cranes was delivered by TAIDA GLOBAL in July 2026 to Saudi Arabia for a large logistics and intermodal cargo handling project.
The project required different lifting configurations to support both heavy general cargo handling and container transfer operations within the same logistics terminal. For this reason, two rail-mounted gantry crane configurations were supplied according to the customer's operational requirements.
The 50/16-ton gantry crane was configured with main and auxiliary lifting capacities for handling heavy industrial cargo, machinery, steel structures, and other large materials. The 40.5-ton rail-mounted gantry crane was designed primarily for container handling and transfer operations between railway lines, storage areas, and terminal transport vehicles.
Both cranes feature heavy-duty steel gantry structures, rail-mounted traveling systems, maintenance platforms, access stairways, guardrails, electrical control equipment, and dedicated lifting mechanisms. Their configurations were adapted to the terminal layout and the customer's different cargo-handling requirements.
Before delivery, the main girders, supporting legs, lifting mechanisms, traveling systems, electrical components, braking systems, access platforms, and major structural connections were inspected. Functional testing and equipment checks were completed before the cranes entered the final handover stage.

The project delivery included the main crane steel structures, lifting mechanisms, crane traveling systems, trolley systems, electrical control equipment, access platforms, stairways, safety components, installation guidance, commissioning support, and operator training.
During installation and commissioning, the project team coordinated the positioning of the cranes, rail alignment, electrical connections, traveling mechanism adjustment, lifting system testing, and operational checks.
After commissioning, the two cranes were prepared to perform complementary duties within the terminal. The 50/16-ton crane provides lifting capability for heavy and oversized cargo, while the 40.5-ton crane supports efficient container transfer and logistics operations.
This combined crane configuration gives the terminal greater flexibility for handling different cargo types and supports more efficient movement of containers, industrial equipment, and heavy materials across the logistics yard.
