Cryogenic Storage Tanks Delivered to India

2026-08-03

Cryogenic liquid storage tanks and supporting gasification equipment were supplied under TAIDA GLOBAL’s coordination for an industrial gas storage and distribution project in India.

The customer required a centralized storage solution for low-temperature industrial liquids while keeping the installation layout compact and allowing sufficient access for operation, inspection, and maintenance. Based on the project conditions, vertical cryogenic storage tanks were selected for the main storage area, together with related piping, valves, safety devices, and vaporization equipment.

Before shipment, the tank bodies, piping connections, lifting points, insulation systems, surface finish, valves, and transport supports were inspected according to the confirmed project requirements.

Due to the dimensions and center of gravity of the equipment, the loading and transportation plan included dedicated support structures, protection for exposed valves and pipelines, and reinforced securing arrangements. The equipment was then prepared for export transportation to India.

Project Equipment

The supplied system included:

  • Vertical cryogenic liquid storage tanks

  • Outdoor cryogenic storage equipment

  • Ambient vaporization units

  • Piping and valve assemblies

  • Safety and pressure-control components

  • Equipment support structures

  • Transport and installation accessories

The final equipment configuration was adjusted according to the stored medium, required capacity, working pressure, site layout, operating conditions, and applicable project specifications.

Main Technical Specifications

Vertical cryogenic liquid storage tank:

  1. Tank capacity range: 5–250 m³

  2. Configuration: Vertical

  3. Applicable media: LNG, LO₂, LN₂, LAr, and LCO₂

  4. Working pressure: 0.8–2.1 MPa

  5. Minimum design metal temperature: subject to the selected medium and project specification

  6. Insulation type: Vacuum powder insulation or high-vacuum multilayer insulation

  7. Main materials: Subject to the selected configuration and applicable technical requirements

  8. Non-destructive testing requirements: Confirmed according to the project specification

  9. Piping and valve arrangement: Customized according to the operating process

  10. Installation arrangement: Adjusted according to the site layout and maintenance requirements

The final tank capacity, working pressure, insulation system, material selection, piping arrangement, valve configuration, and foundation interface must be confirmed through the customer’s technical specification and site drawings.

Why Vertical Cryogenic Tanks Were Selected

The vertical configuration was selected to reduce the required installation footprint while providing centralized storage capacity for the industrial gas system.

For projects with limited installation space, vertical tanks can help organize multiple storage units within a controlled area. However, the final layout must also consider:

  • Foundation design

  • Tank spacing

  • Fire and safety distances

  • Piping routes

  • Vehicle and maintenance access

  • Vaporizer location

  • Valve operating space

  • Future expansion requirements

The equipment layout should therefore be reviewed as a complete system rather than as individual tanks.

Inspection Before Shipment

Before delivery, the project team reviewed the equipment against the approved technical documents and scope of supply.

The inspection points included:

  • Tank body condition

  • Nozzle and piping orientation

  • Valve installation

  • Safety-device interfaces

  • Vacuum-insulation system

  • Lifting points

  • Support structures

  • Surface coating and finish

  • Equipment identification

  • Export transport protection

Any project-specific test records, material documents, inspection reports, or third-party inspection requirements should be confirmed before production and included in the agreed documentation list.

Export Packaging and Transportation

Cryogenic tanks require a transportation plan based on equipment dimensions, weight, center of gravity, valve position, and route conditions.

For this project, exposed components were protected before loading, while the tank bodies were supported and secured to reduce movement during transport. The loading arrangement also considered lifting access and unloading preparation at the destination site.

For international projects, buyers should confirm:

  • Delivery destination

  • Port and inland transport conditions

  • Maximum transport dimensions

  • Unloading equipment

  • Site access restrictions

  • Required export packaging

  • Protection of valves and pipelines

  • Installation sequence after arrival

These details can affect the final equipment arrangement and shipment plan.

Project Coordination for the Indian Customer

TAIDA GLOBAL supported the Indian customer with technical requirement clarification, equipment configuration coordination, production follow-up, quality inspection, export packaging, loading preparation, and delivery planning.

The project scope was coordinated around the customer’s operating medium, storage requirements, site conditions, installation layout, and required documentation.

For similar cryogenic storage projects, buyers should provide the following information before equipment selection:

  • Stored medium

  • Required storage capacity

  • Working and design pressure

  • Daily gas consumption

  • Required vaporization capacity

  • Minimum and maximum site temperature

  • Installation location

  • Site layout drawing

  • Available power supply

  • Applicable standards

  • Required inspection documents

  • Delivery destination

  • Installation and commissioning scope

Final technical parameters should be confirmed based on the project specification and applicable requirements.

TAIDA GLOBAL helps global B2B buyers coordinate cryogenic equipment sourcing, technical clarification, supplier matching, quality inspection, export packaging, logistics, installation preparation, spare parts, and after-sales support.

Same Quality Standard. Lower Total Procurement Cost.
