Longwall Hydraulic Roof Supports Delivered to India for Underground Coal Mining Project

In August 2026, TAIDA GLOBAL successfully completed the production and delivery of a batch of longwall

hydraulic roof supports to India for an underground coal mining project.

The hydraulic roof supports were designed for use in a fully mechanized longwall mining system, providing temporary roof support and working space protection during coal extraction operations. As one of the key components of a longwall mining face, the equipment works together with the shearer and armored face conveyor to support continuous underground production.

Each support incorporates a high-strength steel base, roof canopy, shield structure, hydraulic legs, hydraulic cylinders, articulated linkage components, and hydraulic control system. The structural arrangement allows the support to carry roof loads while advancing progressively with the mining face.

The large-diameter hydraulic legs provide the primary supporting force between the base and canopy. Hydraulic cylinders and articulated structural components control support movement, canopy positioning, and advancing operations. The shield-type structure helps protect the working area from falling roof material and provides a controlled operating space for underground mining personnel and equipment.

The equipment was manufactured according to the customer’s mining conditions and longwall system requirements. Support dimensions, operating height, hydraulic configuration, interface positions, and structural arrangement were coordinated with the overall underground mining system.

Before delivery, TAIDA GLOBAL completed workshop inspection and functional verification of the major structural and hydraulic components. The inspection process covered steel structures, welded joints, hydraulic legs, cylinders, pin connections, hydraulic pipelines, sealing components, articulated mechanisms, and assembly condition.

Hydraulic components were also checked for installation accuracy, movement performance, and system integrity before the supports entered the final preparation stage for overseas transportation.

Project Delivery Scope

The project delivery included complete hydraulic roof support structures, hydraulic legs, operating cylinders, articulated mechanisms, hydraulic pipelines, control components, connection assemblies, workshop assembly, inspection, functional testing, export preparation, and technical support.

During manufacturing, the structural components were fabricated and assembled according to the underground mining requirements. Hydraulic legs, cylinders, pipelines, and control components were subsequently installed and checked to ensure coordinated mechanical and hydraulic operation.

Before shipment, the completed supports underwent final workshop inspection covering structural integrity, hydraulic component installation, cylinder movement, articulated mechanism operation, pipeline arrangement, and overall equipment condition.

Following delivery and underground installation at the customer’s mine in India, the hydraulic roof supports will operate as part of the longwall mining system, providing continuous roof support as the mining face advances.

The project provides the customer with a heavy-duty underground support solution for improving the safety, stability, and operational continuity of mechanized longwall mining operations.
